Officially, France Football magazine has nominated Moroccan international Achraf Hakimi for the Golden Ball award.

French magazine France Football has nominated Achraf Hakimi, the Moroccan international player for the French football team Paris Saint-Germain, for the 2025 Golden Ball award, which is appropriate for a player in the world.

The list of 30 players nominated for the Best Player award includes Achraf Hakimi, Ousmane Dembélé, Desierre Doué, and Gianluigi Donnarumma from Paris Saint-Germain.

The Golden Ball is awarded to the player who receives the highest number of points in a vote by 100 journalists representing the top 100 countries in the FIFA rankings, in addition to votes from coaches and captains of international football teams.

During the current 2024-25 season, Hakimi won the French Ligue 1 title with his team, Paris Saint-Germain, for the third consecutive time, as well as the French Cup and the UEFA Champions League, in addition to reaching the final of the first edition of the Club World Cup.

Hakimi was previously selected by FIFA for the 2022 FIFA World XI at The Best Awards ceremony, and was previously selected by FIFA for the World Cup Qatar 2022. He is currently considered the best right-back in the world, according to many experts, coaches, and analysts.

It's worth noting that France Football magazine, which presents the Ballon d'Or, sets a set of criteria for winning the Ballon d'Or in the voting process for the world's best player. These criteria include individual performance, collective achievements, and high-quality, fair play throughout the football season.
